Autumn is my favorite time of year with the world clothed in bright, rich colors especially on a sunny day. I wanted to capture such a moment and chose a peaceful country setting. I did not grow up in “the country”, but I fondly recall precious times when my parents would take our family to visit relatives who still resided at or near their old homesteads. I thought the little country churches were especially fascinating. Upon completing this painting, I felt I could take a stroll down that country road and relive those childhood memories.
