Rome, Italy is a glorious, ancient, and busy city full of locals and tourists. However, if you take the time to wander some of the side streets, you can find quiet areas where the antiquity of the homes has been embellished with beautiful plants touched by the sun filtering between the buildings. This is what I wanted to capture in this painting. It seems a very tranquil place to have a reprieve from the many exciting activities surrounding this special city.
