Secret Stairs

Sometimes one discovers a natural hidden gem such as old stone stairs surrounded by lush growth. A discovery such as this can be a rewarding experience, the same as climbing those rugged stairs, or preserving the experience on canvas. It all seems somewhat mystical to me. This was the first time I painted with a palette knife, but the stairs challenged me to give that technique a try. The rest of the painting was completed with brushes.
