Ponte Vecchio in Florence
Description
2011
18 x 24”
Oil on Canvas
Florence Italy is generally considered by most to be the birthplace of the Renaissance. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the oldest museums in the western world and just one of many museums and galleries in Florence. Looking out a large window of the Uffizi, one sees this beautiful view of the Ponte Vecchio or “Old Bridge.” At one time this was the only bridge across the Arno River, and it was the only one not destroyed during World War II. It is a fascinating bridge to paint with all the little shops. I am very satisfied with how this painting turned out.
