This painting was at first a challenge for me. I wanted to paint Venice but not the usual tourist place like the Grand Canal. I decided to paint a quiet little canal. Upon conclusion I felt I could dine at the little cafe and then take a beautiful gondola ride. Perhaps that is me coming from the left or perhaps you and a loved one.
